Chicken Alfredo Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Alfredo Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Pasta:

  • 12 ounces fettuccine or your choice of pasta

Instructions:

Preparing the Chicken:

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning (if using), and garlic powder.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side or until they are cooked through and have a golden-brown crust. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

  3. Slice the cooked chicken into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.

Making the Alfredo Sauce:

  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. Pour in the heavy cream, and bring it to a simmer. Reduce the heat and let it simmer gently for about 2-3 minutes.

  3. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, and continue to cook and stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy. If desired, add a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor.

  4. Season the Alfredo sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Cooking the Pasta:

  1. While preparing the sauce, cook the fettuccine or your choice of pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta.

Bringing It All Together:

  1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce, and toss to coat the pasta thoroughly.

  2. Finally, add the sliced chicken to the Alfredo pasta and gently stir to combine.

  3. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Serve your Chicken Alfredo hot, and savor the creamy, rich, and indulgent flavors that make it a world-favorite chicken dish. It's perfect for a special dinner or any time you want a comforting and satisfying meal.
