Dark Chocolate Avocado Truffles
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (at least 70% cocoa)
- 1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder (for coating)
- Optional: 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (for sweetness, if desired)
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate chips until smooth. Stir occasionally to ensure even melting.
Prepare the Avocado: Mash the ripe avocado until smooth in a separate bowl. If using honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract, mix them into the mashed avocado until well combined.
Combine the Chocolate and Avocado: Pour the melted chocolate into the mashed avocado mixture. Stir thoroughly until well combined and smooth. Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the mixture is firm enough to handle.
Form Truffles: Once chilled, use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out small portions of the mixture. Roll each portion into balls using your hands.
Coat the Truffles: Roll each truffle ball in cocoa powder until evenly coated. You can also roll them in finely chopped nuts or shredded coconut for additional texture and flavor.
Chill Again (Optional): Place the coated truffles on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill in the refrigerator for another 30 minutes to set.
Serve and Enjoy: Once chilled and set, serve your dark chocolate avocado truffles immediately, or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
